It gives me great pleasure to announce that Brad Rice will be dannychoo.com's first Guest Blogger! Brad is a comrade who writes for the immensely popular Modern Method blogs Japanator, Destructoid, and Tomopop. Brad brings to us a wealth of knowledge on all things otaku and I'm sure his writings will fit in with the culture at dannychoo.com. You will be able to find all of Brads writings in his news item view and you will also be able to see a permanent widget on the top page of dannychoo.com which already has his first post. A few words from Brad below - Please join me in welcoming him! Welcome all, to the Japanator takeover! I'm Brad Rice, a blogger running between New York and New Jersey, currently finishing up a double major in film and East Asian history at Syracuse University. Danny has invited me to guestblog here on the site for the next week. You might know me as "Dick McVengeance," the moniker I've used for years at Modern Method -- the triplet sites Japanator, Destructoid, and Tomopop. I've been with Modern Method since its beginning, blogging about "the videogames" as a way to avoid going to math class. But in November of 2006, my boss dropped the website Japanator into my lap, and then I started making serious headway into the world of otakudom. From that point on, we've been on the rise fairly quick. To give you an elevator pitch of Japanator: A little bit quirky, a bit perverted, and a whole lot of anime, Japanator talks about everything related to Japan. Like the food. Or the music. Subscribe to our RSS feed and you'll quickly see what we're all about. Our writers are based all around the US, so now that con season is upon us, we'll be chock full of con reports, cosplay photos, and podcasts aplenty. You guys may have seen our figures site Tomopop already. We've quickly shot up to one of the largest figure-only blogs on the Internet. My time there is spent writing about the weird and perverse Japanese figures. Clearly something that I'm proud to have on my resume. My work on Destructoid has become intermittent due to running Japanator, but I'd really like to thank Danny for giving me this opportunity to talk to all of you people. I've always been impressed with the dedication that Danny's had, and the empire that he's built out of it. I'd love to achieve the heights that he has, and I'm hoping that this guestblogging job will endear you guys to my writing. And well, if that's not enough, here's us doing a dramatic reading from Yen Press' yaoi title Mr. Flower Bride.
